The Sanctuary Choir of First Baptist
Provides music for the weekly Sunday morning worship services. It is
for anyone who is in high school through senior adults. Practices are on
Sundays at 9:15 a.m. (for 30 minutes) and 7 p.m. (for around an hour and a
half). The choir also presents musicals for Easter and Christmas. We invite
anyone who enjoys singing to come and join the choir.

Minister of Music
Kern is currently teaching choir at Athens High School and Middle
Schools. He has a Bachelor of Music Degree from Baylor University,
Master of Church Music Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary, a teaching certificate from University of Texas at Arlington
and is currently working on a Master of Music Ed degree from University
of Texas at Arlington. Kern and his wife Barbara have two grown
children, Bridget and Robby.

The Handbell Choir
Meets each Sunday afternoon
at 5 p.m. There are 12 members and some music reading is necessary. The choir
provides music for services about once a month and for special services. If you
